There are times when you lose a trade and you go “Oh yeah, I got a bit too greedy there” or “Oh yeah, I jumped in a bit too early when the setup was not fully formed yet” or “Oh yeah, I got out a bit too early when I should have just let things play out a bit more”.
And you learn something from that loss.
And yet, there are times when your entry into a trade was perfect, and the conditions were perfect, and you executed your strategy perfectly down to a tee…and still lost the trade.
And in such instances, you may start to question how this could possibly have happened.
And you start to get upset. And you start to question your strategy.
Don’t.
There is no strategy that wins 100% of the time. If there is one, I’d love to see it. Every strategy will have its wins and losses.
If you have done proper backtesting and deduced that your strategy works 65% of the time, then you just have to accept that there will be 35% of trades that are going to be losses despite executing them perfectly.
It’s just the nature of the beast.
Learn to suck up your losses and move on. It will be better for you in the long run.
Don’t dwell on the losses if there is nothing to be learnt from them.
You are playing the long game.
